We first met back in 1984 when Ian was the one who encouraged me to join the clock pool team after moving here from Boldon. Because of that he was directly or indirectly involved with most of the wonderful friendships I have still today. Regularly out on a weekend with a group, who all know who they are, I was accepted in and treat as a long time friend. Unfortunately those regular weekends and ultimately Ian's pool days gradually disappeared as no doubt age and other responsibilities such as family and business took over. Those days may be long gone now but never forgotten. Unfortunately I can not be there to join with others to say my final goodbyes but I raise a glass to you Ian and thank you greatly for the memories and the wonderful friendships you helped me create that still exist today.
Cheers Ian, God bless.
